I’m turning 21 in less than two weeks! Crazy. For my birthday this year, I’m doing things a little differently. Instead of asking people for presents, I’m asking them to donate to mycharity: water campaign. Help me celebrate my birthday this year and donate!
Please reblog :)
It feels really great to know it is possible to change people’s lives for the better, even if they live across the world.

Today it begins: the last leg of the Twenty Project. With your support, I’ve raised nearly $2,000 for charity: water. I’m proud of that, but there’s still a lot to do before the end of the year. There’s still lot of people to help. I hope to have your continued support and donations :)
Also, I turn 21 in a month. For my birthday, I’m asking people for donations instead of presents. Woohoo!
Start your own my: charitywater campaign TODAY! Donations from campaigns started in September will go toward a new drilling rig and equipment in Ethiopia.
charity: water’s mission is to bring every person on the planet clean and safe water as quickly as possible. In Ethiopia, water project teams want to move even faster, but they don’t have the equipment to drill as many wells as they’d like to. That’s why charity: water is raising money for a new rig.
Rigs aren’t cheap. The equipment costs $1.2 million. charity: water needs your help to buy the rig, which can drill 80 wells a year and help 40,000 people a year.
Now is a better time than ever to start your own campaign!

Do it do it do it!
In case you missed it earlier. This is important!

there’s one day left to bid on Andrew Bird’s signed poster & picture. The bid is low right now; let’s step it up! It’s a really fabulous poster and all proceeds go to charity: water.

I just did a happy dance because charity: water featured me on their blog! That has been a goal of mine since starting the Twenty Project. I always look to the blog for information, inspiration, and ideas. So I can’t believe I’m on it now!
If you haven’t already, please consider donating to my campaign. Every dollar counts. And, if you didn’t catch my post earlier today, I put a signed, limited edition Andrew Bird poster up for bid on Ebay. Check it out!
the lovely Andrew Bird was kind enough to donate a signed poster & picture to Twenty.
Poster: 18” x 24”, 6 color silk screen, limited edition poster from the Noble Beast Tour. Whether you went to the tour or not, it’s a fantastic poster, full of colors and details. This tour poster was originally sold for $30. All proceeds will be donated to charity: water, an organization that brings people in developing nations clean and safe water. Please keep that in mind while bidding :)
Picture: ~5” by 7”, signed, with a nice glossy finish.
Bid on Ebay! :)

charity: water just released 250 videos thanking individual fundraisers for their support. It’s things like this that make me incredibly happy to have chosen to raise money for charity: water over other organizations. They bring kindness and humanity into every aspect of what they do.
Thank YOU for following and supporting Twenty Project in any way. I hope that, as the year progresses, we can learn about the water crisis and help solve it as much as possible. Together we can do so much!
charity: water has only been around for five years and it has already brought TWO MILLION people clean, safe water. Amazing! That would never have happened without lots and lots of people pitching in. I believe every little bit of goodness a person can do in this world counts. This video illustrates what can happen when a little bit of help from a lot of people adds up. I bet you can’t watch it without your heart being warmed!
If you have any money to spare for this great cause, consider donating directly to the Twenty Project campaign [here] or buying “Under,” a song composed by Blake Harnage from VersaEmerge. So far you all have helped raise $1,762 through my campaigns since January. Let’s keep it up!
“Talking toilets — it’s not comfortable. But Khadija’s eager. She stands straight up, hands at her sides, in her school’s small yard, waiting patiently in the misty aftermath of Bangladesh’s heavy rain.
She politely answers questions: her age, who her friends are, where she lives, what she wants to be when she grows up. But it’s obvious Khadija is ready to get to the real stuff.
She wants to tell the story of how toilets brought her back to school.”

Blake, guitarist of VersaEmerge, composed this song especially for Twenty Project. He said about the song:
For me, colors are really significant in the music i compose. This piece is very grey. It paints a very clean and futuristic, yet gloomy picture in my brain. Personally, it puts me in an suburban, glass house while it’s raining outside. Although I rather people create their own unique brain places…
When we (Sierra and I) write music, we each see colors induced by the music. And more than often, we see the same colors. I find the connection between different senses really interesting. The ability create an image in your brain to go along with a song is really powerful.
For example, we both see the color red for our song “Stranger.”
All proceeds of this song will be donated to charity: water through Twenty Project.
You can download this track i made above. You can chose how much or how little you donate. There’s no minimum. All proceeds go to charity water. Reblog!
thanks
If you haven’t donated yet and you’re low on cash.. this is a good chance to get a fine piece of music and help out at the same time!
